Faith - Family - Wellness: The story

Wellness is a choice of lifestyle marked by a balance of mind, body, and spirit. A trinity provided by God and the holy trinity. Matthew 28:19: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

FAITH
Faith: the assent of the mind to the truth of a proposition or statement for which there is not complete evidence; belief in general. Just because you can not see it does not mean it is not present, just because you do not understand it does not mean it is not true.

FAMILY
The family is a unit, the family is the building blocks of a nation. All civilizations are built on units of families. As the family goes, so goes the nation. It is the most basic unity of society. This is also true of the family of God. We are a unit. When we all function as a unit, we all prosper. Paul commands, “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:3-4)

WELLNESS
Just as a balanced diet is important to health, so is a balance of the body, or physical wellness; the mind, or the social, emotional, and intellectual wellness; and the spirit, or spiritual wellness.

A primary chiropractic principle is that we are born with knowledge (innate) that enables us to remain healthy by adapting to stress.  Another is that the nervous system oversees that knowledge.

The Law of Entropy states that all energy in a system can change, but the total energy never dissipates (leaves). Stress must go somewhere, so when it is not dissipated it often becomes a physical entity in the body, somatized stress, and can lead to a vertebral subluxation or segmental joint dysfunction.

The vertebral subluxation is a common cause of nervous system interference in the body, the cause of many of our ailments/dis-ease, and is the thing most chiropractors treat. Chiropractic does not treat conditions.  It only seeks to restore the body’s innate healing wisdom. Some combination of physical, chemical and mental stresses is the cause of vertebral subluxations. Chiropractic can positively affect the trauma, thoughts and toxins that cause dis-ease by relieving interference to the nervous system, allowing your body to heal and restore itself.

DD Palmer, the founder of chiropractic, and his son BJ Palmer created the philosophy of chiropractic that has consistently evolved since its inception with DD in 1895.  Some aspects of chiropractic, though, remain unchanged. BJ Palmer illustrates (1906), “We Chiropractors work with the subtle substance of the soul. We release the imprisoned impulse, the tiny rivulet of force that emanates from the mind and flows over the nerves to the cells and stirs them into life. We deal with the magic power that transforms common food into living, loving, thinking clay; that robes the earth with beauty and hues, and scents the flowers with the glory of the air.”

This is an acknowledgment, faith, that a power exists that is greater than us human beings. That power oversees all life, and is responsible for the intelligence that exists within us. That intelligence is energy, and is the key to healing.

This power we identify as the God Almighty and his amazing creation of the human body, giving us the innate ability to heal and remain in balance with the mind, body and spirit.
